On Reading The Great Gatsby

Today, March 4^th 2013, i read the second novel for extensive reading. I choose this novel because ininterest from the text from the cover that this novel is the best love story of America and another reason is this novel also recomended by Mr. Hasbi in Survey of American Literature for my assignment to read this book, so i read one book for two lesson.

            At the first, this book tells about Nick Carraway who be a character in this book who tells the story. First, the story began from Nick Carraway who life from rich descent and famous family in East Egg. Carraway move from East Egg to West Egg at twenty nine years old for working at finances office. But the story from this book is interseting from the neighbor of Carraway, the name of Carraway’s neighbor is Jay Gatsby. Gatsby is the richest man and famous man of west Egg. Gatsby always invite famous and rich people from everywhere for party in his house every day. Until one day Carraway is invited to join the party in Gatsby’s hause.

             From here we know that Gatsby is lonely man, because he always invite people for party in his house, but when i not finish yet reading i didn’t know what the reason that make Gatsby feel lonely if he not made a party.

            Carraway invite to the Gatsby’s party at the first time, when he join to the party Carraway feel very anxious to meet or to know a Gatsby. Carraway go from one room to another room in that big haouse, until Carraway go to the sound at that home and meet with a man who looks with  authority, and a man is Gatsby. Gatsby is well people, he very good to people, but after Carraway come for a few to the party Gatsby always alone, and he amlmost never join to gather to chat or dance or what ever like another people do in the party.

            Gatsby is beceome a big question for me, what he search in he life, he rich, famous, popular, but  i guess that Gatsby have a true love that can’t be changing with everything, because from the first  i read this book, i didn’t found Gatsby with woman, and i think normaly man should have a woman, but i don’t think that Gatsby is abnormal.

            Tuesday, march 5^th 2013, i continue to read this book, and after i was read some pages i know that Carraway has a one of his big family, her name is Daisy and her husband is Tom Buchanan and Buchanan has a sister her name is Jordan Barker, Daisy and Buchanan also a rich man at West Egg  and Barker is golf player. One day Carraway invited by Daisy to come to her house, and Carraway come to Daisy’s house. Daisy is prety woman and also Barker. When in Daisy’s house Carraway chating more with Barker than Daisy, and Buchanan also just speak little bit.

            From here i foun another thing like wrong, because Daisy and Buchanan is rich family but they are look like not happy, and about Barker, Barker is well woman although in the story Barker is unfriendly woman, but to Carraway Barker is well woman.

            When i read this book more again, Buchanan has another woman, and i know from Barker that told this to Carraway. Another woman of Buchanan is woman that has a husband. The name of that another woman is Myrtle and her husband is Wilson. Wilson was known that her wife is have another man.

            I think Wilson is man that the most stupid in the world, if i has a wife like Myrtle may be i has been ended the marry because that is a biggest one treason for me, i really don’t know what thinking in Wilson’s mind until he so stupid like this.

                After reading until a half a book, my guess is right That Gatsby is lonely because he waiting his true love until he fifty years old. And the woman that Gatsby loved is Daisy. At the past Gatsby is just a poor man but Daisy is rich woman, and because they level is diffrent so that their love can’t be stated. From that Gatsby work very hard to be a rich man. Gatsby work at millitary, and he be a major in early age. After Gatsby pension, Gatsby have a medicine company.

            I am really not like with difference between poor and rich, i think human is same not except about love, ough to their love can be stated. But i amazed with Gatsby that he want to proof that he can be rich, but i think Gatsby was wrong to use his money with make a party everyday.

            One day, their meet because Carraway met Gatsby and Daisy at Carrraway Home, Gatsby and Daisy chating so long in Carraway’s home. Their promise can meet again, and their go to each home. In second meeting Gatsby who invited by Daisy to her home also chating again but in Daisy’s house can’t chating with relax because Tom Buchanan as Daisy’s husband is there. Buchanan feel jealous look Gatsby and Daisy so close.

            I think Daisy is wrong to invite Gatsby to her house, because Buchanan is there, and Daisy was known that Gatsby still love her.

            Because in Daisy home is not condusif, Daisy invete all to walk around to the city. Buchanan, Carraway, and Barker in one car and Daisy with Gatsby in another car. When their arrived their rent a luxury hotel for a rest, but there still not condusif, so their back to home.when back to home Gatsby’s car is drived by Daisy, and on the way to home Daisy crash a woman until death, and that woman is Martyle who Buchanan woman.

            Wilson as a husband of Martyle search who crash his wife, until he know that the car is Gatsby’s. Wilson didn’t know that crasher is Daisy, wilson just know that the owner the car is Gatsby. He come to Gatsby’s house with take a gun and shot Gatsby until he die.

            From here i was amazed again with Gatsby who still love Daisy until he die, but i don’t like Wilson because he careless in take a act before he search what the true.  This story is really amazing, and not strange this story be a best love story in America.
